Toronto School of Ballet Inc.
DANCE PROGRAMS 2017/2018
At the Toronto School of Ballet we offer Recreational, Pre-Professional and Professional
dance training programs as well as the opportunity to train for
Royal Academy of Dance and American Ballet Theatre examinations.
Our recreational dancers experience the same classes as our Pre-Professional students but do not attend
competitions. Dancers may be eligible for RAD or ABT examinations provided they take a minimum of 2 ballet
classes per week.
Pre-Professional Programs (PPP)
Our Pre-Professional program is comprised of 3 streams:
Preparatory (Ages 4+), Junior (Ages 7+) and Intermediate (Ages 11+).
Program placement is based on ability with ages ranges as guidelines.
Dancers interested in these programs must contact the Artistic
Director to arrange an assessment to ensure the dancer is placed in the most appropriate program.
Incertain instances dancers may be encouraged to develop their technique within our Recreational program
and may consider the Pre-Professional program at a later date.
Any dancer within our Pre-Professional program may be selected to represent
Toronto School of Ballet Inc at Local, Regional or National Competitions.
Professional Ballet Program (PBP)
Dancers in our Professional Ballet Program train for a minimum of 24 hours per week in
Classical Ballet, Pointe, Classical Variations, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz Technique, Stretch and Conditioning, with the option of pursuing their major level RAD examinations.
Admittance to this program is based on an audition/assessment by the Artistic Director.
This program is for the dedicated, committed, talented dancer with a passion and love of dance.
These dancers train to represent Toronto School of Ballet at International competitions such as the Youth American Grand Prix, ADC IBC, WBAC and WBC. These dancers may also elect to compete at Local, Regional or National Competitions.
